"I agonised a long time over the finish but settled on Deks Olje, a synthetic oil. I knew that my boat Grebe was not going to spend very long in the water at a time, so perhaps the finish would not be too critical. Also, at home she was to live in the garage in the same space that she was constructed (sorry, car #2) and so would not be exposed to the elements. I've been very happy with the decision. Coating with Deks Olje is very easy (though it can take a couple of days to dry properly in cold weather). In particular, touching up scratches is almost ridiculously simple - a light sand and a dab of the oil with a cloth or cheap brush and you can't detect where it's been done."

“Just to let you know how unbelievably pleased I was with the Net-trol I bought yesterday. The previous cleaner I tried (name withheld) I had to scrub in with wire wool and this met with only limited success. I applied the Net-Trol to the worst areas neat and watched the black marks dissolve before my eyes. On other areas I used a diluted 1:1 mix with equally spectacular results. Even though it is recommended to leave it for 20-30 minutes the marks were gone in 5 ! I don't think the deck was this clean when I first laid it. Whenever you see those before and after pictures on a product like this I tend to disbelieve them but in this case, the product really was that good. I have already recommended it to 3 of my friends."

I keep my sheds right with Owatrol oil and oxide paint. Any bad spots I treat with the oil first using an ordinary sweeping brush, especially around the nail holes on the corrugated sheets. Later I mix the oil into the oxide about 20% mix and it lasts for years. My neighbours are now using it as well.”

"I would just like to leave my comments about an amazing product that does exactly what it says it says on the packet...INSULATES! The paint additive, Thermalite, really does work. I live in an old stone cottage on top of a hill (very, very windy and stormy). Over the years my husband and I have dry-lined our cottage but there was a north facing wall in the kitchen which we never got round to doing so we decided to try Thermalite instead. The difference in the heat that is retained in my kitchen now is very noticeable. Even on a mild day the kitchen used to feel quite cool. Not any more. It just feels so cosy. The doors were of a very smooth two colour melamine finish which I wanted to repaint white. The last thing I wanted was to spend ages doing the job and the paint not keying properly. That was when I came across a reference to your product ESP. Having details from you of the stockist in my area I purchased a tin of the new formula ESP and also used a white satin finish paint. The application of the ESP was simplicity itself, and I followed it with 3 coats of the paint using a small roller. As a side line I paint furniture with wonderful designs. I have a client that has the UGLIEST metal cabinets in their office. I mentioned to them that I could paint these (and put wonderful designs on them). Before your product, I would have used spray paint as a base, and, then worked from that. I don't like spray paint.It doesn't spray evenly, it spots and, generally drives my out of my mind. Now, I'm going to use ESP as my base product for all future jobs, and, then just start painting. I can use regular emulsion paint and then, whatever design the person wants. As an artist, I can tell you that it's much easier to paint on emulsions than spray paint. I can control my brush strokes, the colour stays true and, my end result will please me (and buyer) even more. I believe in your product. It saved my kitchen cabinets, it has made my life as an artist easier. Thank you

I have to say I was amazed at the difference in the room temperature. Much cosier and I even had to turn down the rad because the room was getting too warm on the previous setting. No doubt about it, this Thermilate Warmcoat works. I will certainly be using Warmcoat on all future paint jobs around the house.

This is amazing considering we only applied two coats to the two exterior facing walls. Our house is about 65 years old and has no interior stud work, all the walls are solid. As you can imagine it can be very hard to heat and even harder to hold the heat in.
This weekend we are taking on the box bedroom, this is by far the coldest room in the house and a great test for Warmcoat. The room also has some condensation / mould.
If this room is a success I will be applying two coats to all exterior facing walls in the house. I will let you know how it goes."
"I bought and used Warmcoat for one particular bedroom. While I was initially sceptical, I decided to take a chance on it anyway as it wasn't too expensive.
To prove it to myself I placed a thermometer in the room for a month before painting it. After I applied the Warmcoat I placed the thermometer back in the room again for another month.
To my surprise I discovered that without changing any heating settings or rad, it showed an extra 3 degrees temperature on average in that same room. I am very happy with it and tell all my friends now!"

It seemed to have cured the problem, and it actually had a fantastic added benefit for me. I decided to measure the temperature difference in the room, and to my amazement, I found that previously the average temperature in the room was 15c and now it is actually 18c, this was throughout the winter season.
At the moment I'm just finding time to redecorate, so I can use it in the other rooms in the house too, and make the most of the heat savings. Thermilate helped save 3 degrees; it truly is a fantastic product."

Our intention initially, was to use Thermilate in two of the old bedrooms as they felt "cold". Well we are now totally "hooked" and intend to use it in all of the rooms in the house. I was a little concerned about the texture of the product when it was first applied but the top coat of emulsion soon smoothes it out. I had the mis-fortune of having to put the top coat of emulsion over the Thermilate in a small walk-in wardrobe whilst my husband was painting the main room. We have a sunroom with brick walls the sunroom used to feel like an ice box and the walls were always cold.

"Thermilate was used in the back bedroom, for reducing condensation.
I used a few different types of paints designed specifically for preventing condensation, but they never worked, and the condensation always came back. However, a year later, and unbelievable, no condensation plus the average temperature in the room before I painted was 16c, and after applying Thermilate is 19-20c. One of my friends has a similar problem with condensation, and I advised him to use Thermilate. He has recently painted it too. I'd tried allsorts of products to prevent the condensation coming back. The bathroom has quite exposed outer walls and is north facing and this, together with the fact the radiator is neither use nor ornament ensures one does not linger - it is extremely cold. Black mould caused through the condensation has been the bane of my life for many years - until now that is. The room is still bitterly cold and the walls constantly run with condensation but there has been virtually no mould forms. What little has started to form has been pale grey, which I have immediately wiped away with a cloth - and it is gone! So far, I have only had to wipe it twice in 2 years. I live in an old stone cottage in the Pennines, the sort with thick walls and mullion windows. The mullions consist of a slab of gritstone with a depth of about six inches. Because the stone mullion is both external and internal the inner surface is always cool. As a result, mainly in the bedrooms, condensation appears on the inner surface each morning and encourages the growth of moulds. I had been having problems with this for years with frequent redecoration needed. In spring 2002 I painted the inside of the mullions again, but this time I added Thermilate to the emulsion. The result is that after over one year of use, I have not touched the mullions and the growth of mould is almost negligible. It is definitely a success. My friend lives in Cork and had purchased a house that had some mould on part of the internal walls. Investigation showed that the problem was not caused by rising damp, but was due to the construction of the walls. It appears that many houses there are built with a single leaf of a large concrete blocks. External walls that have poor air circulation, such as behind cupboards, are prone to condensation and mould growth. Last year I gave my friend a packet of Thermilate and he painted it on the affected walls. To date he has had no recurrence of mould growth. Sorry it has taken so long to get this to you, but I wanted to be absolutely sure whether or not the stuff worked before I was prepared to comment on it. Many thanks for your help.

Even when the temperature is below freezing, if the sun is out, my living room could easily get up to 80 degrees, and 90 or more during the summer. Because I needed to repaint the room and ceiling, I put Thermilate in the paint. I figured at the very least, it didn't cost much and might help although frankly I was not optimistic. So it was a nice surprise to find the room was approximately 8 to 10 degrees cooler. And the difference in the rooms comfort level was amazing! Anyway, thank you, thank you, and thank you! The second location was a very damp bathroom with a north facing wall. I spoke to the manager of Brewers in Tunbridge Wells where I have an account. We decided I should mix the powder with a water-based eggshell so that the surface could not absorb any moisture to grow mould in (a very mouldy bathroom,by the way). The ceiling had 2 coats and was 100% successful. The walls only got one coat and after about 1 year the mould is breaking through and I'm about to clean that off and put the second coat on. I am talking about an extreme environment here! Colour: Whilst the powder looks like it will affect the paint shade, it does not. If it does, it's by an infinitely small amount. Mixing: It mixed with the two types of paint I used very well and stays bound in the paint whilst you are using it. Application: The second coat is a bit hard going, feeling like a cross between painting and plastering but for most fit decorators, I doubt they would notice that much. The benefits far outweigh this though. I would use it in problem areas again but in future will be working on buildings where I can control the vapour permeabilty of the walls and so would be keen to hear from you if any work has been done on whether this type of paint/powder is vapour permeable or not.” Best wishes

I have over 40 years experience in Thermal Insulation applications including Marine & Industrial painting (On and Offshore) UK and Overseas. At present I have been using your Thermilte powder additive to emulsion paint interior and exterior applications to Wall and Roof tile coating. Internally I have expereinced the benifit of this application and based on application from last winter here in the UK and find it has positive rsults.. The instructions are simple.., add the contents to 5 Ltrs of paint and apply coat 2 coats and then apply a final colour of your choce as an final encapulation. Its work's!! So I am pleased about this on my home project..I will also use your product on Marine Contracts that I am estimating on at present. The realality is you can use your powder addditive on any application where you require a simple Insulation application with minimum of skill. Regards

I mixed it with masonry paint and painted a section of the outside of my house and it appears to be quite effective. Because of the granular nature of thermalite you have to be careful if you want a paint finish wall, for which I would recommend further coats of un-thermalite paint on top. A recommended use would be under lining paper before wallpapering externals walls; this appears to be very effective measure against cold walls, especially older solid type walls. By Bev Rees Home Owner, Thermilate AdditiveI used the product in my paint when redecorating my bedroom which had quite a bit of mould growth which was causing health issues. After treating the areas with a liquid mould killer, mould resistant primer and adding mould inhibitor to the paint, I also added the thermalite. The process was easy and the finish although slightly fibrous in appearance was fine, I have not had any mould growth since and the walls do appear to be staying a bit warmer.
I only have to replace the radiator as this was only aboutr a third of the recommended power and the room will to all intents and purposes be fine. Whne redecoratin g the rest of the flat I will probably use thrmealite in the paint to try and save monet with the insylating properties. The wall I treated were exterior NW facing walls which always seemed cold before. The room does seem more tolerable and also not as hot in the summer.
Would I recommend the product thermalite? Yes I would and actually have to friends and family. Thanks for what seems like a winner product. Kind regards
I would just like to leave my comments about an amazing product that does exactly what it says it says on the packet...INSULATES! The paint additive, Thermalite, really does work. I live in an old stone cottage on top of a hill (very, very windy and stormy). Over the years my husband and I have dry-lined our cottage but there was a north facing wall in the kitchen which we never got round to doing so we decided to try Thermalite instead. The difference in the heat that is retained in my kitchen now is very noticeable. Even on a mild day the kitchen used to feel quite cool. Not any more. It just feels so cosy. We are so impressed by this product that we are ordering more! I can't recommend it enough and it certainly deserves a 5 star rating.

By mick mullin Home Owner, WarmcoatI used the product internally but only on outside walls of a house where it would have been expensive and difficult to do any other insulation. I used the powder in a tempera (velvet finish) paint which covers imperfections very well. The colours were strong colours. The powder was very easy to mix into the paint.
The powder didn't noticeably change the colour or the finish of the paint when dry. There is a noticable difference to the touch of the temperature of the wall and on one particularly cold wall it stopped a draft coming down the wall. Having said this it is hard to put any numbers to the temperature of the rooms where it has been applied or to any saving in money but I would say that the rooms are more comfortable and I have been showing the product off to friends. I used it on an old building with single skin stone walls which have always felt cold. I was pleased with the slightly textured finish I achieved on smooth walls. When I get round to decorating the other rooms I will be using Thermilate. I'm not sure whether it makes the room warmer. I also have a 1930s built house I am renovating where I will use Thermilate. So far I have used the powder which I found easy to mix. I will be comparing your 'readymixed' paint on the bathroom with mixing the powder with a kitchen paint. Regads,

We used your product on the two walls when we decorated and then papered over one of the walls. We have found that the wall that was papered over is warm to the touch but the wall we just painted is not as successful. I have mentioned to my husband that if we have enough paper we are going to do the wall again. We think your product is very good. Our house was built in 1918 and we have now found a couple of damp patches downstairs in the dining room and we will be treating these areas this winter when we decorate. Yours sincerely

Just a note to say thank you for a great product! We used Thermilate on the interior walls and ceilings of our new home. I have steel framed home and wanted to make sure there was no hosting on the walls from hear/cold transfer and that there was minimal loss of heat.
When we got our first gas bill for winter weather I was surprised. It was twice what my neighbours were. I knew my heat wasn't coming on very much and I shouldn't use that much gas. I called the heating contractor immediately. They didn't think that my bill was excessive for the size house I have. (It is 3, 850 Sq. Ft. in size) but with all I had done to be energy efficient 1 felt that my gas
bill was very high!. I also called the insulation people to see if we needed more insulation in the attic. The insulation contractor had me do a few tests, while we were waiting on the Heating and Air-conditioning contractor, to see if we had a lot of heat loss through the ceiling. We had 9" of snow the day before and it was 26 degrees outside so it was a good time to do this type of testing! I had a temperature difference of 8 degrees from the top of the insulation and the attic air temperature, which means I had very little heat loss through the ceiling. Next I checked the temperature difference inside the house between the sitting area and the ceiling. The average was 2 degrees. With ten-foot high ceilings there is usually a 10 deg. temperature difference between the floor and ceiling! . The Insulation contractor was stunned! I then proceeded to tell him about Thermilate and gave him your web address so that he could get more information! The Heating and Air conditioning people finally found the trouble with the heater, it was a bad computer board that was turning on the gas without the thermostat calling for heat so it was burning gas but the dampers didn't open for the heat to go into the house. When it was fixed my gas usage dropped to less than a third of what it was before!
The outside temperature was in the seventies yesterday and the house was 72 degrees inside when we went to bed. When we got up in the morning it was 44 degrees outside and when I checked the gas meter no gas had been used by the heater all night and the inside temperature was still 70 degrees. (Only a 2-degree overnight interior temperature drop!)
I strongly recommend the use of Thermilate for anyone who wants to maintain a comfortable home and who desires to reduce their energy expenses!
