Insulating Additive for All Paints

I received the package of Thermilate, which was used on my kitchen ceiling. The kitchen is 15ft x12ft x 9 ft high and previously had polystyrene tiles. Your product seems to do what it says, by reflecting the heat back into the kitchen. I have been monitoring the temperature and I would say that Thermilate has been a good solution to the removal of the polystyrene tiles. Thank you once more

I used the product in my paint when redecorating my bedroom which had quite a bit of mould growth which was causing health issues. After treating the areas with a liquid mould killer, mould resistant primer and adding mould inhibitor to the paint, I also added the thermalite. The process was easy and the finish although slightly fibrous in appearance was fine, I have not had any mould growth since and the walls do appear to be staying a bit warmer.
I only have to replace the radiator as this was only aboutr a third of the recommended power and the room will to all intents and purposes be fine. Whne redecoratin g the rest of the flat I will probably use thrmealite in the paint to try and save monet with the insylating properties. The wall I treated were exterior NW facing walls which always seemed cold before. The room does seem more tolerable and also not as hot in the summer.
Would I recommend the product thermalite? Yes I would and actually have to friends and family. Thanks for what seems like a winner product. Kind regards

I purchased the paint additive. I used it in an area where there was always condensation and a little dampness. Needless to say the condensation and dampness has gone. The room appears warmer.  One thing I would say, that the additive makes the paint a little grainy, perhaps a way around this is needed.  Best Regards

"This is now the 2nd winter my 'Thermilated'  bathroom walls and ceiling are experiencing and I have waited until now to obtain an overall better idea of precisely whether the product worked for my circumstances or not. The bathroom has quite exposed outer walls and is north facing and this, together with the fact the radiator is neither use nor ornament ensures one does not linger - it is extremely cold. Black mould caused through the condensation has been the bane of my life for many years - until now that is.  The room is still bitterly cold and the walls constantly run with condensation but there has been virtually no mould forms. What little has started to form has been pale grey, which I have immediately wiped away with a cloth - and it is gone! So far, I have only had to wipe it twice in 2 years. I can only hope it now continues with the good work.

"I would just like to leave my comments about an amazing product that does exactly what it says it says on the packet...INSULATES! The paint additive, Thermalite, really does work. I live in an old stone cottage on top of a hill (very, very windy and stormy). Over the years my husband and I have dry-lined our cottage but there was a north facing wall in the kitchen which we never got round to doing so we decided to try Thermalite instead. The difference in the heat that is retained in my kitchen now is very noticeable. Even on a mild day the kitchen used to feel quite cool. Not any more. It just feels so cosy. "I foster 6 children together with my mum. We've always had a problem with damp caused by condensation, in the hallway...... I'd tried allsorts of products to prevent the condensation coming back. I'd used a paint designed specially for preventing condensation, tried tinfoil before wallpapering, and all sorts of other products. It was important for me to get rid of the condensation because of the children. I then used Thermilate. I used 2 coats in the hallway, nearly a year ago and the condensation has not come back. I then used it in my kitchen where I had a similar problem, I used 2 coats, again it has not come back. I can't believe it, fantastic product, fantastic idea. "On renovating my son's bungalow, first we installed D.I.Y electric central heating mats over the concrete floors.  Each room having its own thermostat and timer. By now (late September), we had painted the first bedroom with Thermilate this was reading 27C. The second bedroom without Thermilate was 24C. The temperature difference is remarkable. I have now ordered more Thermilate for my own house to lower fuel costs.

Like most insulating type products, better in some areas than others. I mixed it with masonry paint and painted a section of the outside of my house and it appears to be quite effective. Because of the granular nature of thermalite you have to be careful if you want a paint finish wall, for which I would recommend further coats of un-thermalite paint on top. A recommended use would be under lining paper before wallpapering externals walls; this appears to be very effective measure against cold walls, especially older solid type walls.
